The UAE is First in the world in the Index of Access to Electricity, Easy Access to Electricity Connection, and in the Reliability of the Electricity Supply System
The United Arab Emirates has achieved a new success represented by the winning the first place globally in the indicators of global competitiveness. According to the Prosperity Index Report 2019, issued by Legatum Institute in the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates ranked the first in the index of access to electricity, in the index of easy access to electricity, and in the index of reliability of the electricity supply system. The UAE has also ranked the first in the Sanitation Index in the Global Innovation Index report 2019 issued by INSEAD in France. UAE has achieved 100% in the Index of Access to Sanitation Services as part of the Prosperity Index for the year 2019 issued by Legatum Institute in the United Kingdom. It is worth noting that there are 98 wastewater treatment plants in UAE, distributed in all cities and regions of the country. The amount of treated water reached 736 million cubic meters, 74% of which was reused in the cosmetic agriculture and in the industrial sector. On this occasion, His Excellency Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Industry, said "The UAE, represented by the Ministry of Energy and Industry, achievement of the first place in a number of global competitive indicators, is a qualitative accomplishment added to the State's and the Ministry's rich record that we are proud of. It indeed confirms our leadership in the global energy and water sector, reflecting our commitment to achieving the vision of our wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE, May God protect him; and of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the State, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, May God bless him; and of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, as we continue diligently, persistently and jointly collaborating with our partners to reach the UAE Vision 2021, and the goals of the "UAE Centennial 2071" in order to make UAE the best country in the world.
