The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) has converted the family book from paper-based to electronic one, to be used as an approved document in all transactions with government, semi-governmental and private entities, in addition to the smart application of the ICA. The decision is in line with the government's vision to place the UAE at the forefronts of world countries and is consistent with the government's directions in the field of electronic transformation and reducing the percentage of customers visit to service centers to 80% by 2021. The decision also paves the way for a new era of more advanced services using the latest technologies, and at the same time enhanced the role of the ID card as a tool for keeping all data of both UAE nationals and residents. The adoption of the electronic family book is a distinguished step for the development of government services. By utilizing modern and innovative technologies in government transactions, procedural time lags are reduced, and so things are made easier. In 2020, the Electronic Family Book won the Global Business Excellence Award in the category of best government innovation meanwhile supports the government's approach to digital transformation as well as the innovation strategy launched in 2014., (17). In 2021, the Electronic Family Book was included in the UAE Government Innovation Report for the year 2021 issued by the Mohammed bin Rashid Center for Government Innovation, which sponsors 25 innovative government initiatives from the UAE. and it also support Sustainability goals (Goal 9) industry, innovation and infrastructure
